Spider Solitaire arrived two days ago, and it's the game where small decisions add up the most. Our new Spider Solitaire strategy guide covers how to play it well at every difficulty.

The short version
- Build in suit whenever you can. Only same-suit runs move as a group. A mixed run is stuck until you take it apart.
- Treat empty columns as gold. Use them to rearrange runs, not to park a single low card.
- Clear the shortest columns first. Fewer face-down cards means an empty column sooner.
- Hold off on the stock. Each deal covers all ten columns. Make every move you can first, and set your columns up so the new cards can be moved.
Stepping up to 2 or 4 suits
If 1 suit feels easy now, the guide explains what changes with 2 and 4 suits. In short, mixed runs start to cost you, so plan before you stack. At 4 suits, keep a column empty for as long as you can.
